Winter favourites

So winter is basically here and it is almost Christmas and I am so excited! With cosy nights in (and days for that matter!), warm drinks, yellow and orange leaves and Christmas movies, what more could you want? Well... winter make up of course! With winter comes some of my favourite make up items!

First item in my favs is Mac's classic lipstick Whirl (£15.50). I bought this really early in the new year and it had become my go to lipstick. It's a matte finish, The only way I can describe it is that it is a brown-stone shade. I really love this shade, it can go with any outfit and is an everyday shade.

Next is Mac's Twig (£15.50) As soon as I got this lipstick, it soon became my go to, overtaking Whirl. It's a satin finish, and is such a subtle look being a mauve-pink shade. I don't really like pink lipsticks because I just feel like they won't suit me, or they're too girly, but this one is spot on. It's an "in the middle" sort of pink. On the Mac website I think they described it as a "dirty rose" which resembles this shade so well. It is perfect for a subtle look, and everyday use.

My next lipstick is pretty recent, again it is from Mac (£15.50) and is in the shade Verve. This is also a satin finish and I am so in love with this shade. It's a chocolate brown shade and again with this one is perfect for everyday or the occasional night out.

A lot of my favourite nail polishes for winter used to be just black, but with my recent obsession for other dark colours or neutral colours, this has obviously changed. I have two favourites this year and shocker!!! they're not black.

The first one is a Barry M nail polish, in a burgundy shade. I absolutely love this colour, it's such a perfect Autumn/Winter colour however, the durability of this particular polish isn't so great even with a top coat on it. I may have to find the same colour in a different brand which is a shame because I generally really like Barry M. I think I got this polish for 80p because it was reduced in Tesco (bargin!!) but it normally is £4 or something.

The next nail polish I have is a Kiko Milano Power Pro polish, I have no idea what name or number this polish is in (sorry :() This shade is a neutral shade with a hint of purple in it, which I love. With the purple tint, it makes my nails a little less boring. I can't remember how much I got this polish for because I think at the time they were having a sale on. The durability of Kiko polishes are really good too with or without a top coat!

Do you have any of these items? Which are your favourite winter picks?

Love, Abi x
